This online training has been developed in the UK by the National Breast Imaging Academy in collaboration with the Scientific Computing team at the Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust, NHS England and elearning for healthcare.

This is a comprehensive elearning programme that complements face-to-face clinical learning for radiographers, radiologists and clinicians undertaking all breast imaging training programmes.

Available to healthcare professionals around the world, the programme provides interactive learning sessions on a wide range of breast imaging topics alongside relevant aspects of pathology, surgery, nursing, oncology and risk prevention and highlights the role of the breast imager within the breast multidisciplinary team.

The programme will also provide valuable continuing professional development for established staff seeking to refresh their knowledge and stay up to date.

Content

The elearning programme is made up of over 150 elearning sessions.

The sessions cover all aspects of breast imaging and relevant aspects of surgery, oncology, pathology, nursing, and risk and prevention for both trainees and qualified staff.

After an introductory module, topics such as techniques in mammography, ultrasound and MRI as well as evaluation and then communication are covered.  Further modules cover topics including intervention, screening, disease, cancer management and working in a multidisciplinary team.
