Female Genital Mutilation e-Learning to Improve Awareness and Understanding of FGM
It is estimated that around 200 million women and girls have suffered Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) in more than 30 countries, mainly in Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
This programme aims to enhance knowledge and awareness of the issues surrounding FGM. It is suitable for school and practice nurses, health visitors and general practitioners across the globe. This programme covers many themes, including different types of FGM, safeguarding principles, the physical and psychosocial impact of FGM, and the legal framework. There is also practical advice on initiating difficult conversations about FGM with patients and a wide range of other issues.
